A spectacular lake completely surrounded by mountains & ridges, like a crater. A difficult hike into & out of, but very private, great fishing, & plenty of fire wood. Boulders to dive off, deep pools, amazing sunsets.

From Redding:

I-5 to Weed (take Edgewood exit to old Hwy 99), then North on old Hwy 99 to Gazelle-Callahan Road (6 miles). West to Callahan, then south on Forest Hwy 93 (Cecilville Road). Right on Forest Road ____ to trailhead.

From Trailhead:

Follow road app. one mile then trail cuts to the north over the ridge & drops steeply to the lake.
