Black Rock Trail

Ishi-1

An easy trail that follows Mill Creek downstream from Black Rock campground. We camp in a lovely meadow next to the creek. It's very hot in the summer so we usually go in early spring for our 1st outing of the year & in late fall for our last outing of the year.

In the spring the wildflowers are blooming, the meadows are green, & the creek is rushing with melting snow runoff. In the fall the trees are turning color & the creek is mellow & swimmable. Usually there is plenty of firewood to be found. The fishing is good but it is catch-&-release only.

Ishi's spirit lives on -- remember to pay proper respect.
