 Our friend, Margaret,
calling her hubby from the top. "I made it, hon!" |
Climb to the top of a volcano with spectacular views of the Sacramento Valley, hundreds of
miles of forests & lakes, and beautiful snow-capped mountains. Mt. Lassen is a 10,500
foot high volcanic flume with hardened lava flows, craters, & outcrops. The
hard, flat trail starts at 8,500 feet & zigzags along a 15% grade for 2.5 miles to the
top, taking about 2 hours. Water, sunscreen & appropriate clothing are
essential. Beware of altitude
sickness.
