A lovely lake ringed by forest on one side & a large granite bluff on the other. Good fishing, great for small boats. Plenty of firewood nearby. Deer visit the camp nightly. Within one mile of Caribou Lake (good fishing) & the trailhead to the Caribou Wilderness (many lakes within easy walking distance).

Campsite, facilities: 2 campgrounds (Silver Bowl on north side & Rocky Knoll on southeast side) 36 sites total, well water, vault toilets, fire grills, picnic tables, pets permitted on leashes
Elevation: 6,400 feet
Reservation, fee: No reservations, $8.50 per night

From Redding:

East on Hwy 44 towards Susanville. Right on County Road A21 (signed Silver Lake about 5 miles past the Bogard rest stop). Right on gravel Silver Lake Road. App. 100 miles total.
