A small wilderness
area set in the southern portion of the Cascade Mountain Range. Twenty-two miles of trails
through volcanic & glacial formations, rocky ravines, mountain slopes, open meadows,
& stands of lodgepole & red fir. The 16,335 acre wilderness is dominated by 8,677
foot Crater Peak. Glacial action is responsible for carving the many small lakes &
ponds scattered throughout the area. There are 7 major lakes (the largest is Eiler), all
with good trout fishing.
